Although his first annual letter was rambling and, in the way it was pimped up and prettified by a PR staff - self-indulgent, Bill Gates’ status report is a very useful review of the critically important work that the foundation does.  The analysis of the global economic crisis is quite good.  This quote was the best part: you have to applaud the man for using his influence to tell the grant-giving world that now is not a time to be timid.
