[Flash 9 is required to listen to audio.]

I plan to return to more earnest writing tomorrow, but today am posting an audio file for the first time to this blog.  The thought is to put up series of five songs on a particular theme or from a specific artist.  My first theme is “songs about New York City” and the first song, at “number 5” is “City of Immigrants” released by Steve Earle on the 2007 collection  Washington Square Serenade. Steve is a worthy artist with a very interesting personal history. The catchy tune is not the most interesting, but in the tradition of Woodie Guthrie it has a beautiful, populist lyric.
