Autumn Marathon

I’m taking a few days off from CrossFit and marathon training to enjoy the summer and travel with my daughter.  Spent the day in Rochester, a beautiful city.  I was particularly drawn to Lake Ontario because I have never been on the shore of one of the Great Lakes.  They really are big!  My reactions:

• You can’t see Canada from the US shore which is logical given the size of Lake Ontario, but I am used to lakes where you can see the opposite shore.
• Having accepted that the Lakes are really Seas, it was strange to look north at an ocean.
• Very sad that the beach was closed to bathers by the NYS Health Department because of unhealthy bacteria levels.
